Almost February!!!

That was quite the week... It went by fast, and was an overall good week but I sure wasn't home very much. Thank goodness I stuck with my plan for the weekend, to clean and get laundry done. My house looks and feels amazing!! I love a clean house. I know I don't make that much of a mess by myself or even acquire that much laundry but since Gizmo is around, there is always something to clean or vaccum or laundry to do because I have to wash all my blankets every week. So worth the trouble but annoying at times. So on Friday night, I didn't do much. Just chilled out at home, watched a movie and was in bed by 8:30. How pathetic!!! Saturday, I slept in....meaning 8:30 a.m. haha and got up to clean the house. It was great to be productive and admire my clean house after. I attempted to get groceries but was feeling too lazy so I turned around and went home haha. Later that day, I drove out to Sidney to hang out with Carley, who is here until Tuesday/Wednesday to help her mom out while she has 6 weeks of bed rest. Saturday night was fun, it was good to get together and chat, we went for a super long walk around Sidney and then ended up back at the house at 1:00 a.m.Sunday was a pretty boring but productive day. I did laundry all day and got most everything done. It is such a relief to have some work clothes clean this week. Since I was in Vancouver last weekend, I didn't get a chance to do laundry, and so last week was such a mix up everyday figuring out what to wear.

That was the extent of my weekend, not very exciting but hey, stuff needs to get done at some point and hopefully now that I am a bit on top of it I can do more of my cleaning this week and not on the weekend. Not too much to look forward to this week. Carley and I are going to have lunch on my break tomorrow, but then nothing else planned for now. It seems that since I write on this blog more I now have run out of things to talk about. I have been coloring at work again. Passes the time at least. I was supposed to be training for this new program, has to do with data entry and new training for employees but I haven't yet started it so right now I am waiting.

Great!! I just got a weird visitor so now I have a good story. I realize that job hunting needs to always seem professional but sometimes it sucks dealing with people searching for work. I have already had two people this morning wanting to drop off a resume. One actually asked to speak with Gary Schwann (recruitment officer) and to my surprise, Gary actually met with him, but the second one almost made me laugh out loud. He walked in, wearing a strange looking fur coat, started out by asking about our old address. So right off that bat I could tell he was a newby. he then asked who was running the place. I said Dave Curtis is the President/CEO. So the buddy asked to talk with him. HAHA Dave doesn't do the hiring so this buddy was out to lunch. I feel like some days I constantly have to lie to people. ESPECIALLY with people dropping off resumes. They always want to speak with someone right this minute yet they are forgetting that this is a business and people have other things to be doing. That is why they call you to set up an interview!!!!! So in the end, I told fur coat buddy that all the HR staff were in meetings but I would leave the resume in the mailbox.
Another example of me lying throughout the day is when people call for certain managers and I screen the calls. One of these just happened. Telemarketers call for Jim constantly, and even though I talk to him and let him know they called, he will just say voicemail so I make up an excuse like they aren't at their desk or something. Jim once told me too, that if I can't pronounce the name, do not transfer the call. I remember last week, there was one day where there was so so many calls for Jim. I finally just didn't even call him, I would just put them on hold, pretend to try his line, and then make up that he was in a meeting or something work related.
Well that is my work rant for the day. I'm sure you can only imagine the phone calls I get. Most are quite comical. Even when the people get mad at me for whatever reason, I just laugh it off. They are silly for getting mad at me. What do I care?

Hope ya'll had a good weekend. Hopefully I will have more exciting things to share later this week or tomorrow if something great happens tonight!!!
Ciao!!
